  • Fourteenth Annual Dinner Dance The Association held their fourteenth Annual Dinner Dance at Eastown Banquet Hall on Saturday Oct,28th,2006 in a glamorous style unique to JCCOBA with plenty of entertainment, delicious food and dance to great music. The President,Dr.K.Theivendirarajah in his welcome address summarized the achievements of the Association and reiterated that centralites must be proud of a 190 year old school with a one hundred year old alumni association, a distinction unparalleled in the history of the north.
    The chief guest of the evening was Mr.P.Manoheran, a distinguished old boy and a teacher at central. He was happy to see that all old boys in Canada are united in their goal of helping their alma mater and he  praised the excellent work of the association.
    Appreciation awards were presented at the dinner to S.K.Ravinrakumaran and Ramasamy Chelvaratnam for their valuable service to the OBA. Appreciation awards were also given to Bavani Selvasingam for her excellent performance as master of ceremony at the Madya Deepam 2006 and to Thilaka Sivakumar for raising the most amount of $750 at the Annual Walk-a-thon,2006,a fund raising event . A certificate of appreciation was presented to Mr. Arul Mahendran from U.S.A for  his great support to our association. He donated a sum of $500.00 to the Association this year to be spent towards the school.
    The master of ceremony, Bala Abraham elegantly handled the entire dinner proceeding.
  • JCCOBA Canada celebrated the 100 years of the founding of Jaffna Central College Old Boys’ Association ( Dec 1906) on a grand scale with a release of a Centenary OBA Souvenir a Cultural music and dance show- Mathiya Deepam on July 22,2006 at Sir John A MacDonald Collegiate Auditorium, Scarborough, Ontario.

    The celebrations to mark this historic event were a great success with more than 600 people in attendance at the show. The beautiful souvenir of 140 pages with about forty articles and messages written by old boys of Central is a worthy memorabilia.
    The souvenir is available for sale at a nominal fee of $5.00. Those who wish to have a copy, please contact any one of our committee members.

  • Walk-a-thon 2006 and the picnic held jointly by JCCOBA Canada and VOGA Canada was once again a great success. This year we have raised through the Walk-a-thon $5200.00 for the Hospital for the Sick Children Foundation. Thanks to everyone who participated in the walk-a-thon and helped in the fund raising for a worthy cause.
  • Mr.Kanapathipillai Rasathurai, Principal Jaffna central college was killed by unknown assailants on October 12,2005. His untimely death was a great loss to the College and the Tamil community at large. Central has lost a great Principal,Administrator and an Educationalist. His contributions towards the rapid growth and building up Central College as one of the leading Educational Institutions of the north will be remembered by all Centralites.
  • Walkathon 2004 - The just concluded Walk-a-ton 2004 on June 19th at Morningside Park was a great success. This year a sum of $3240 was collected which will be handed over to the Hospital for the Sick Children Foundation. Mr & Mrs Thevarajah of Toronto raised the highest amount of $1080 through their pledge.Jccoba, Canada thanks all those participated in the Walk-a-thon and collected money for the Hospital foundation. We also thank our prize donors Mr.S.Yoganathan,Mr.Siva Kanapathipillai and Mr.S.Sukumaran for their generous help.
  • 100th cricket encounter between Jaffna Central and St.John's college - It will be held on the 17th,18th and 19th of March,2004 at the central grounds. Many old boys from Canada have gone to Jaffna to attend this historic cricket event in the cricket history of the jaffna peninsula.
  • Walkathon 2003 - We are happy to announce a sum of $2600 was collected at the 4th annual Walk-a-thon held on July 12th Morningside Park, Scarborough, Ontario. The funds would be handed over to the Hospital for the Sick Children Foundation at our Annual Dinner 2003. JCC OBA Canada thanks all participants and donors for their great support for a worthy cause.
  • University of Jaffna, Entrance Bursary (17/11/2000) - Our Association has recently donated $6400.00( Rs.325,000/=) to the university of Jaffna to establish an entrance bursary scheme. Under this programme each year three students entering the university from Jaffna Central college will be awarded bursaries.Each student will receive a sum of Rs.10,000/=
  • Jaffna Central College Old Boys Associations/Joint Scholarship Scheme (17/11/200) - Our Association has donated $3400.00 to the Colombo O.B.A for the above joint sholarship scheme.Under this programme financial assistance will be provided to bright and needy students of jaffna central to pursue their higher education in Sri Lanka.
  • Jaffna Central College wins the 12th annual "Battle of the North" Cricket Match for the Sabesan Trophy (22/08/200)
  • Board of Directors of JCC OBA is happy to anounce that our association has now been registered as a "non-profit organization" under the Government of Ontario, Canada
  • Jaffna Central College OBA, Canada branch, President, S. Yoganathan in his speech at the 7th annual dinner/dance announced the establishment of the program titled "Centralites helping Centralites".  A directory of central college old boys' Business establishments/professionals, individual members etc, is expected to be made in the future.
  • The OBA web site, www.jccobacanada.com was officially launched and the president thanked Arun Theivendirarajah (web master) for designing and developing the web site.
  • Central OBA together with Vembadi OGA plans to organize a Walk-a-thon in year 2000 to raise funds for local charities.
