Our Seventh Annual dinner dance held at Eastown Restaurant & Banquet Hall on October 23rd 1999 was a big success attended by over 300 Centralites and their guests. Mr. Arthur Mclelland, oldest Centralite living in Canada was the chief guest. Appreciation awards were presented to the following Centralites for their contribution as talented artists in all our social and cultural functions: Dr. T. Sooriabalan, S.J. Ravindrakumaran, D. C. Balarajah, Nada Jeyathevan, K.S. Balanchandran, S. Jeyarajah, Dinesh Somasundaram, and Mrs. Eilleen Chinniah.
As usual the dinner served by Eastown was delicious and the service was excellent. The entertainment provided by the old Centralites was appreciated by the guests. The Master of Ceremonies, Esananda, conducted the event well and kept the audience lively. It is vital to mention that the success of this event is due to the hard work of every member of the executive committee and volunteers under the guidance of Krish Jeyanathan, the chairperson of the dinner/dance.
