Jaffna Central College came into existence by the Methodist Missionary in August 1816 to foster intellectual excellence, spiritual enlightenment and excellence in all sectors of Sports. Her journey took her through chartered and unchartered landscapes, but she never wavered in her objectives and always reached the pinnacle of success. Her dreams and objectives reflected the dreams and objectives of the Community in which she prospered. Her dedication and commitment in her service for the past 188 years is worthy of praise.
True to the Motto of the College “ In Glorium De Optimi Maximi “ which means “ Into the Glory of God and the Best and the Highest “ and to the objectives of the Alumni Association of Canada, many a Centralites scattered far and wide of this planet, genuinely motivated to assist the Alma-Mater, concrete steps are being initiated to help the College, the College Students in their Higher Educational pursuits and various Voluntary Organizations back Home in their effort to alleviate the despair and desperation of the local population.
The Alumni Association of Canada, a root of Jaffna Central College, is committed to providing Total Service due to the untiring and service minded Members of the Committee – Past and Present -, with the object focusing primarily on development of Higher Education to the needy children of Jaffna Central College by providing Grants and Scholarships thro the Joint Scholarship Scheme with participation from JCCOBA U.K.Branch; Sydney Branch, Colombo Branch and Canada Branch. The bulk of the contribution as at 31st. May 2003 is from the Alumni Association of Canada, amounting to Sri Lankan Rupees 656,615.00, compared to SL Rs. 311,475.00 from Colombo Branch; SL Rs. 246,287.00 from Sydney Branch and SL Rs. 214,254.00 from U.K.Branch.
We are extremely happy to put on record the overwhelming response of the Jaffna Centralite Membership in Canada and States in the History books of the Association. Our Members and our Business Magnates of Canada, form the backbone of the Alumni I Association of Canada, deserve the praise of the Nation.
With our esteemed Members wholehearted
co-operation and participation in all our Annual Get-together and Dinner Dance,
we hope to achieve our goal of Funding amounting to SL Rs. 1 Million. This could
be achieved only with Donations and Contributions from our esteemed
Members.
Our Motto is Service; Our endeavor is Service and our Aim and Objective is also Service to our Beloved Alma–Mater and to the students of Jaffna Central College.
Since formation of the Canada Branch with the overenthusiastic support from our members and advertisers, our Contributions and Funding were distributed into various scopes and fields. However our foremost objective is to provide assistance to our Alma-Mater and to the Students of Jaffna Central College on Educational and Sports activities.
We have numerous Plans which need the continued wholehearted co-operation to realize them, hence Centralites please rally round your Alumni Association of Canada in realizing their cherished objectives. Be a partner in our endeavors and Plans.

during his recent visit to Jaffna.
iii. 2004 SL. Rs. 40,000.00 Funding of the Hall of Fame Project.
iv. 2004 SL Rs. 20,000.00 Cost of One Steel Almirah for the Library
v. 2004 SL Rs. 30,000.00 Cost of Cricket Boots for the 2004 Cricket Team
vi. 2004 SL Rs. 20,000.00 Cost of Soccer Boots for the Soccer Team.
These funding was handed to the College Development Society by R.Chelvaratnam
During his recent visit to Jaffna.
